Job Description:

Leeds is a city on the up. We have a good story to tell and it keeps getting better.

We are now home to a thriving and dynamic economy. The city is buzzing. We have harnessed the energy of our four universities, the strongest financial and professional services centre outside London, growing digital and creative industries and most of all, our people, to push the boundaries on growth. There is a new confidence in Leeds, with the ambitions to match.

These successes are not enough for us. We care about our city and want to ensure everyone can benefit from our success. Our drive for inclusive growth underpins all we do, it makes us what we are. And that’s where you come in.

Our new Chief Officer Economic Development will shape our growth for a generation. Working across all aspects of our economy, including digital, creative, tech, skills, business growth, inward investment, tourism, culture, health, inclusion, transport investment; you will have the credibility to represent the city at all levels. Working closely with the Leader and Chief Executive, you will combine a deep understanding of how to deliver inclusive growth with the personal style to build effective, high level relationships. This role is about applying creativity and understanding with values and passion, building practical alliances that deliver change.

Coming from any sector, you will be able to make an impact across the Leeds City Region. Your will understand what makes diverse cities like Leeds tick and will have a track record of connecting new thinking to drive economic success. You will be able to craft ideas, analysis and understanding into programmes that create positive change and accelerate inclusive growth. You will create, adapt, interpret and innovate; linking strategies to people and place. You do not have to be an expert in economic development, but you will become one very quickly. You will have to show how you will use your talent and insights to bring people, businesses and innovation together for the better.

This is a fantastic opportunity in a city that puts words into action. To find out more go to www.proventureconsulting.co.uk or speak to our advising consultants Stephen Cooley on 07747 698 829 or Mark Tobin on 07717 725 844.

Closing Date: 10am Monday 26th February.

We promote diversity and want a workforce that reflects the population of Leeds.
